Radeon HD 6870 Game Requirement Analysis

Radeon HD 6870 is a fast high-end card made in 40nm fabrification process. It is based on the Barts XT architecure. Featuring 1120 Shaders, 56 texture units and 32 ROPs paired with fast 1GB GDDR5 video memory working on 1050 MHz, and core clock running at 900 MHz. Most latest games will be playable on High-Ultra and no AA with 1080p, except Demanding ones such as Far Cry 3 or Assassins Creed 3, which requires lowering settings to high, without Anti-Aliasing, while Crysis 3 needs medium-high graphical settings in order to achieve playable FPS.

The 5000 series was made by ATI. AMD bought them over before the 6000 series was made and changed the naming system.

My mistake, they kept the ATI name until around 2009. That meant that they still used ATI's naming system. There was (in order of power) the 5850, 5870, 5970. The 6000 series adopted a new naming system meaning that the 6870 is less powerful than the 5870. The new 5870 was the 6970.

the 5 and 6 are just generation numbers. 5970 is alot better than 6750 for example. you should look at the 2 numbers next to generation number. HD 5770 and 6770 should be pretty close etc 6970 should be direct replacement to 5970 (although 5970 is alot better because its a dual gpu)

sure even on ultra its a storng GPU with this video card and your CPU you can run everything on ultra…my friend is with intel pentium dual core 2,80 ghz and a 3 GB RAM and a 2 GB GPU and runs every game on ultra…even i run most of the games on max…
