Radeon HD 6870 Review
Radeon HD 6870 is a fast high-end card made in 40nm fabrification process. It is based on the Barts XT architecure. Featuring 1120 Shaders, 56 texture units and 32 ROPs paired with fast 1GB GDDR5 video memory working on 1050 MHz, and core clock running at 900 MHz. Most latest games will be playable on High-Ultra and no AA with 1080p, except Demanding ones such as Far Cry 3 or Assassins Creed 3, which requires lowering settings to high, without Anti-Aliasing, while Crysis 3 needs medium-high graphical settings in order to achieve playable FPS.

what a normal temperature for this card ? mine got 56*C when idle and above 90*C when full load... is that normal?

Its okay. this gpu consumes pretty much power so it also heats pretty much. Try increasing the fan speed to keep the temps lower. :)

GTX 670, but costs more than 7950.
The cheapest solution: if your PSU can take it, you can also consider to get another 6870 and put them both in crossfire.

I'd check the PSU rather than the mobo. Plus, in the same price range there is the 7850, which is better.

Would a PCIe 2.0 slow down the performance of the 6870 compared to a PCIe 3.0? and is it really worth buying a new mobo with a PCIe 3.0 then?

The 6870 is not a PCIe 3.0 card buddy. So you dont have to upgrade for a PCIe 3.0 motherboard if you want this gpu :)

Its not bad, but make sure that is a version with an effective cooling design with 2 fans. Usually a software comes bundled with the gpu :)

Thats not bad :) Hopefully yes, if you dont go to the global asus website and visit the graphic cards sub-section, there you'll find a link to software called Asus GPU tweak. ITs an overclocking software for vgas and works with any card brand :)
