Radeon HD 6450 Review
Radeon HD 6450 is an entry-level GPU based on the 40nm architecture Terrascale 2.
Technically, it succeeds Radeon HD 5450 and has to compete against Intel's integrated graphics. It's based on the Caicos Core and therefore offers 160 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs on a 64-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The memory clock will be clocked at up to 800MHz while the central unit can range from 625MHz to 750MHz.
This GPU's rank is based on the fastest version available and benchmarks indicate its performance is, overall, up to 40% faster than previous Radeon HD 5450. Expect to see 2GB versions of this GPU which will offer exactly the same performance.

Radeon HD 6450 was later (2012) renamed as Radeon HD 7470 GDDR5 and then (2013) as Radeon HD 8470.

Because you have GHz edition and it OC edition (overclocked by video card developers), thats why yours is better.

don't get it, it is a weak gpu. there are a lot of better gpus than this at a good price point of 100-200 USD, I recommend the HD 6670 1GB GDDR5, it is cheap, and can run all modern games at high to max settings on at least 35 FPS

Mazasrb
19:45 Sep-20-2012

That CPU is a little weak for 7970 but you'd get better FPS than with 7870.Do you have some particular reason to go for Nvidia.AMD gives you better performance for the same money. What PSU do you have?

There is and will be blottleneck in any computer, my gpu is bottlenecked in skyrim and prototype 2 by the cpu, so that's why i said HD7770, everyone says that games will run ok with a decent cpu as much time the gpu is a beast, but it's not really like that. A balanced rig as cpu/gpu/ram is the best choice.

but i don't think the hd7850 will bottleneck jdsjoel's fx 4170
Mazasrb
14:29 Sep-20-2012

FX 4170 is 'four' core CPU with 10% OC is about 4.5GHz, 7850 won't be bottlenecked by it.7850 is a GREAT card for it's price.Your Athlon II x4 651K can't be a bottleneck for 7770 or even stronger cards.

probably you do not understand the meaning bottleneck.. if the gpu is too strong for the cpu, the gpu will tend to get higher and higher fps because it si capable of it, but if the cpu is not strong enough (cpu demading games) the fps will be limited by it. My HD6750, a mid-end gpu is being bottlenecked by the "high end" 651k in skyrim, as example.. i also tested it, no matter how much i increase gpu core/memory clocks the fps will remain the same .. 51- but when i overclocked the cpu by 400 mhz the fps increased to 56-, the new games aren't anymore just gpu demading, look around at some 2011 games but most of 2012 games use the both gpu and cpu alot, for a HD7850 the best cpu would be i5-2500

the stronger is the gpu, the more fps it will want to give you wich also means the cpu will have to deliver more information to it, (1 fps = information sent by cpu) more fps? more work for the cpu, but it also got a limit, when it reaches like 90% usage it won't be able to send more information(fps) than that, so the gpu will render just the available information, lesser gpu usage than it can = bottleneck. That's why it doesn't matter of the combination Amd-nvidia, intel-ati, because they work together and depend on each other anyway
Mazasrb
15:03 Sep-20-2012

Bottlenecking is not an unknown are for me.I've seen stronger GPUs on CPUs similar to yours (tested rigs).Your quad can take 7850 it's not that simple to test GPU bottleneck by just increasing GPU frequencies. Also your GPU is mid, and CPU is mid-end.Relatively weak GPU can be bottlenecked by quad core CPU like yours.

overclocking is increasing performance of the specific component (home made upgrade lol) and how a weak gpu is being bottlenecked by a strong cpu? is it you writing inaccurate or me not understanding what do you write -.-

oh it's ok :D so why are you saying overclocking won't help you to test the bottleneck? since it's like you would create new "default" clocks, a bios flash but not really a bios flash
Mazasrb
15:41 Sep-20-2012

GPU can't be OCed much in stress test i get a few more FPS by GPU OC.

and if in saints row 3 the fps increase by 4-7 fps and in skyrim, where i tested it didn't increased any bit? i said clearly before, that i didn't got any fps improvement from gpu overclock in skyrim, wich was the proof of my gpu being bottlenecked by the cpu
