Radeon HD 6770M Review
Radeon HD 6770M is a fast-middle-class GPU based on the 40nm Terrascale 2 architecture.
It's based on the Turks Core (therefore related to Radeon HD 6670) and offers 480 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs on a 128-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. Its central clock runs at 725MHz and the memory clock operates at 800MHz.
Its performance is superior to both Radeon HD 6830M & Radeon HD 6850M due to being paired with fast GDDR5.
Using a 720p resolution, most of today's games are only playable at medium or high settings but with very fluent frame rates (45+).

I think if its a standalone card without all that switchable graphics features brought in by HP then you can use the proper ATI drivers.
If you have to get them from HP then you wont be getting much more than a base driver. I have a similar graphics card and its really frustrating because HP provide none of the features ATI does and updates are scarce... :-/

If that laptop has the GDDR5 version of the GT650M then go for it. Otherwise, the 6770M is a bit faster :)

so that means those laptops gpus m/texels and m/pixels rate wont double?! huh! I was so excited in that laptop. I thought It really had 6770m crossfire...never mind even 2gb vram is also good.. something is better than nothing :P :D
Pip
18:27 Mar-09-2012

Oh but it does support CrossFire. The fact it says it doesn't here must have been caused by a bug when we changed the GPU Interfaces.
Tero
18:30 Mar-09-2012

Yeah, did a little googling (again :D) and I can confirm it :)

Pip
18:37 Mar-09-2012

I don't think this GPU is powerful enough to use 2 GB..Maybe 1.5 but 2 GB? Hum..

How does this card support crossfire? Is it when you put a amd cpu and this gpu together. But, in reality you cannot put 2 hd 6770m's together.

I'v seen a hd 6770m paired up with amd processor like a hd 6775g2. But its usually weaker then the hd 6770m itself alone.
