GeForce GT 525M Review
GeForce GT 525M is a middle-class mobile GPU still based on the 2010 Fermi architecture.
It's based on the Fermi GF108 Core and offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 4 ROPs on a 128-bit memory interface of 1GB DDR3. The central clock runs at 600MHz and the memory clock operates at 900MHz. Expect a power consumption of up to 35 Watts.
Its performance is quite average and so expect to only be able to play most modern demanding games at medium settings but with fluent frame rates (35+) using a 720p resolution.

all on low. you're gpu is like a renamed GPU of mine, i ran crysis 3, low, somemedium, and lowered my resolution. :D aa on medium, and it looks fine, runs great too, 24-31 fps, spike upto 35 at times. lowest is 19 fps. :D
Pip

Excuse me?
GT 525M is not a renamed 610M and is not even related to it. They steer from different chips. :D

A GPU will resort to system ram (shared memory) when it runs out of dedicated memory (frame buffer). GeForce GT 525M has a memory clock of 1800MHz to fill its frame buffer. By resorting to system ram, depending on its frequency (usually 1333MHz) it will run slower - though not much slower in this case.
Say GeForce GT 525M was 1 GB of GDDR5 - it would be twice as slow by using system ram.

20:54 Sep-25-2012

Hello,
Your GPU is equivalent to a GeForce 540M which is just a tiny bit faster than 525M. There are some 630M's that have higher clock frequencies though. If the price difference is huge, might as well buy the one with the 525M and overclock it.

Pip

No, I mean that if you change any of the components, you will also have to change the others. You might put extra RAM for very demanding games like BF3 but other than that, any change will not be worth it :/

To see the biggest boost thats what you have to do.
Pip
09:26 Sep-25-2012

Well no. If you put a GTX 680M you will get an enormous perform boost but your CPU will hold back the GPU. However, I read somewhere GT 525M is MXC so you are very limited to upgrade it if it's screwed. A friend once told me of a website that has all their sizes but I don't remember which any more :(

Hey guyz my gfx card gets upto 95 degrees celcius while playing battlefield 3/. Is it too much. Is it harmful to my gfx card.. Will it affect its performance? If yes how can i lower the temp.. and i also use a cooling pad while gaming. so.....
Pip
23:15 Sep-19-2012

Hello,
I used to experience the same situation when playing BF3 on my old laptop that had a GeForce GT 540M - pretty much like yours.
That temperature is already too close to the threshold but it should not damage the component or affect its performance. Seems extreme, considering you have a cooling pad. Perhaps you can try disabling the Turbo Boost of the CPU to produce less heat or maybe it's time to clean the laptop. If you don't want to use compressed air, you can always vacuum the entrances, with the computer turned off.

I have laptop Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH531 GFO with this graphic card and i want to change it on better card is it possible or not?
Pip
23:18 Sep-19-2012

Hi,
It depends on whether it's soldered or just screwed. You have to consider two things, in case you can remove it (if it's screwed):
1 - The Size of the GPU. The GPU you want to put in needs to be within the same size which reduces the expansion possibilities by a lot and trust me, yours is quite small.
2 - The PSU your laptop currently has. You probably have a PSU of around 100W. You'll need to upgrade it if you want a high-end GPU. Fortunately, it's external.
Pip
23:20 Sep-19-2012

You might also have to consider a cooling upgrade because a more powerful GPU, will require a more efficient cooling system,. This should not be a problem with the new Kepler (Nvidia) GPUs (600M Series)-

Seeing its a Moblie graphic card, You cannot upgrade a laptop graphic card. You will need to buy a new laptop. This is my laptop it has i5 processor 6GB ram and GT 635M graphic card. Which is 37% more powerful than yours. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/asus-n55sl-s2167v-15-6-laptop-12448412-pdt.html
