GeForce GT 620M is a entry-level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.
The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm Technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.
It equips a GPU Codenamed GF117 which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 625MHz.
Additionally, GF117 is built using a 28nm technology.
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies
With a rated board TDP of 15W, it is suited for small laptops.
Of all the GeForce GT 620M variants, this one is the slowest but also the one that consumes less energy and heats less, as it is built using a 28nm technology.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is slightly below the older GeForce GT 525M.
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 620M.
not a bad gpu it can run gta 55 fps and fallout 4 50 FPS at medium setting
played sleeping dog With gt 620m at high setting it's good
Well, is it the normal case that I got averging 30 FPS in GTA V with this GPU
not a bad card at all.
Runs Crysis 3 on low setting at 720p 30fps
Dude! This core clock is 625mhz, pip, change the spec of this GT 620M page http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gt-620m/specifications
I have my GT620M… I'm was OC the GPU.. The core clock is reaching 950MHz the shadder clock 1900MHz and the memory speed 1080MHz… Will it making more FPS?--
Can I ask? Did game debate is know I'm was using turbo boost tech?
I think there is mistake at core speed it says 475 MHz but on my pc it shows 625 MHz
Is my laptop gonna overheat if I overclock this gpu
