Radeon HD 6670 Asus Edition Review
Radeon HD 6670 Asus Edition is a special edition of the Radeon HD 6670.
The new features include the "Super Alloy Power" which allegedly raises the performance by up to 15%, a core-clock overclock by 10MHz, from 800MHz to 810MHz and a new cooling system to reduce the heat resultant from overclock.
The Result is a solid fast-middle-class GPU that will still require the user to reduce its settings when playing Very Demanding games and not recommended for extreme resolution games, due to its lousy 1GB of video memory.

This is a great medium-high level budget GPU. I picked mine up for £50 from amazon. Would recommend! :D

Building a rig on a budget for a friend of mine. She's a gamer and has gotten to like the idea of PC gaming. She want's something mid range. I have setteled on using the A10 - 5800K processor (Read a lot of good reviews and benchmark articles on it's capabilities with modern games on medium settings at 1280x1024). And am thinking about it's hybrid crossfire capabilities with this card in mind. I imagine should see a preformance increase amounting to something like modern AAA titels running on high smoothly (with the exception of like far cry 3 and metro etc) Think I would correct in this?

1366x768 should be smooth with this one. 400W is enough, but I'm not sure about EZCool and if it could provide enough efficiency/amperage, know your 12V value?

Can people please explain the math here.. a card that is at max (i.e. benchmarking etc) will easily peak at 100W even this one will.. If you had, say a core 2 duo at 65W plus 120W (room for extra) from this your looking at 185W. Plus a hard drive, anywhere from 10W to 40W gives 225W. Add MoBo and RAM and you peak at around 245-250W. A 300w PSU wouldn't be recommended unless it was a 80+ certified..
Tero
10:43 Jan-09-2013

The 80+ certification means that in load, the PSU will give at least 80% of it's wattage to the components (the rest is "lost" as heat etc.) :)
The manufacturers always like to play it safe, my GPU 'requires' a 700W PSU but I'm running it (and loads of other components) with a 650W PSU ;)

That was my exact comment. I got a un-certified psu which is 50W above what I actually need (plus a bit more).. I'd rather not risk the problems with too little power..

Thanks :) In my new build I'm going for a Corsair. Are they any good? It's a tough choice between the Corsair and a OCZ Modular PSU.. The Corsair is cheaper but I trust OCZ a little more..
Tero
09:19 Jan-21-2013

Corsair is excellent in my opinion, haven't heard anything bad about it :)
I had an OCZ PSU once and it was great ;)

You've made my decisions hard now :D I may re-consider the OCZ just to get better cable management as it's modular :)

Well not just 1gb of vram. The 2gb ones (and vast majority of others in this range) use ddr3 ram. This card uses ddr5 ram which is superiour in bandwidth and therefore speed at which data is transferred to the GPU's processing unit. Hence the memory speed of this card being 1000MHz as apose to the Sapphire 1gb ddr3 version at 800MHz and 2gb version of having memory speeds of 900MHz. so bassicaly more data transfered quicker using less power through dd5 and (this card.)

no. 250w won't definentally be enough. you need atleast 400w. since CPU takes about 60w, hdd uses about 30w, vents use about 20watts (depends on fan. my fan uses about 5w each.. mobo itself uses 30w, ram takes about 2 to 5W, mostly depending on the number of chips on the stick and the operating voltage(12w in total for me), dvdrom uses 15w.. so yeah.. sum it all up, and that's 167w on my rig.

the 6670 Asus edition uses max 66w (under heavy load the maximum pikes above 100w..) and keep in mind that you should reserve about 20% of your PSUs power as a "reserve".. in my case.. i have a low-end 480w psu.. and i am able to play it well.. as for the suggestions, i'd suggest you to get a decent 450w psu AT LEAST..!.. i can't stress this out enough.

Even a 250W psu would handle it,so theres no problem...the card itself need 66w,so even if u have a monster cpu oc-ed or whatever wich needs 130w+,250 would still be enought for the whole system
