I use it with an 8800 GT, it works fine, but you cant play modern Games, but i can smoothly run Counter Strike: Global Offensive and League of legends in 60 FPS

GTX650 MSI OC is good choice, there is some bottleneck in games that uses 100% of processor but thats rare on my resolution only BF3 and BF4 does use 100% of processor, while GPU usage is at 99% which is not a bottleneck :)

You should not buy a GT 220, because it's an old card and you can get a much better card. You can go for either an HD 6570 (which is about 80$), or an GT 630 (a little less powerful, costs about 75$). Both these cards have NO bottlenecking at all, and you can run modern titles at Medium settings.

Oh and I forgot to say is that you NEED to upgrade your PSU to use these cards. They require an 400W PSU
