My faithful A8-3870K has just died. I'm looking at this CPU as an upgrade. Any suggestions for motherboards? I'm trying to keep my budget as close to €200 as possible, and the prices I've seen for this processor come in around €160, so I'd like to get a motherboard for in or around -- or preferably less than -- €80 if possible. Any suggestions?

I'm using an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3. It's not the best mobo out there, but it's holding up pretty good.
It supports faster DDR3 than most cheap mobos, but if you're using an aftermarket Air Cooler you might want to check if your Ram sticks aren't too high or they might get in the way.

This CPU is crazy for multitasking. I got up to 402 processes running according to task manager with only 51% CPU usage!

yea that should be good i have a 550W and its more than enough but I hate to be the bringer of bad news but your motherboard has a cpu socket of FM2 and you need a cpu socket of AM3+ to fit this cpu also another thing i suggest is to also get a cpu cooler because the heat sink that comes with this cpu is really loud…

LOL i bought 4690k …! It has better Single Thread performance…because games dont use multithread yet…so ill stick to those Intels powerfull CPUs for games for at least 2-3 years.! FX-CPUs are future proof though. Thanks for replying!!!
