It will use as many cores as it needs or as many cores as you tell it to use. Google "unpark cores"

When I played dying light, I was using about 4-6 of the cores at decent usage, after turning the priority of the process(dying light game) to realtime, most cores were being about evenly used.

Well your CPU has the same TDP as this one, so I dont see why not. If the PSU can produce 85%+ all the time that is, considering your GPU is not power hungry. I'd still get a decent 600W tho, so you can upgrade GPU sometime

It has 8 phys cores, but it have 4 ALU. It means that one ALU is used by 2 Cores. The mistake comes from here (Sorry if my eng is bad, I hope you understand)

It has 8 cores, but the FX-8000 and 9000 series always have 2 cores sharing some resources, so they aren't "complete" 8 cores. Performance can reach stock i7s when overclocked though,

Your AsRock is a 4+1 power phase, and it's not recommended for OC

To anyone buying this chip I strongly advise you to invest in an aftermarket cooler. Stock cooler is loud and weak. 30-40 dollar cpu cooler will work wonders

It is. If you have some extra money to spend, I would say to go for the 8350. Either way you go, get an after market heatsink.
If you do get a new processor, think about upgrading that GPU, as well. ;)

You should have little trouble maxing out most games with decent frame-rates.
