I dont want to be ass, but that Cooler Master Elite is total trash, it will blow if you try to pull more than some 450W from it. You can OC cpu to 4Ghz and even little card OC but thats all, do not push it above 400W and better - do not OC at all or buy some better psu

Yes, I still max out many games(not all) at decent framerates.

It's was a good gpu, but I've upgraded to something a little better.

The HD 3870x2 was a solid card.

Your motherboard may be too weak to handle a 8320 try updating the motherboard BIOS to see if it helps. If not you need to get a 970 chipset motherboard

No I would not recommend it. Since due to unable to hit the 4ghz with turbo boost i would not recommend it. If you have updated the BIOS turn on Turbo Boost and see if it can hit 4ghz.

This is a very underrated processor for the price it practically a slightly slower cpu than the 8350 but the price difference is like 30 usd. Guess that the hype of the 8350 is stronger than this one.

Easily. Turbos to 4ghz by default.

That board can actually push out 140watts, just make sure you're cooling is on par with your OC and you should be fine. If you start getting glitches and instability, don't push it.

Personally I'd got with Asus M5A78L-M as your budget choice, depending on your gpu choice.

Perfect!
I ended up purchasing the Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, as the MSi-Board was out-of-stock by the time I went back to purchase it. It clearly mentions FX-8350 and even FX-8370-support. But I'm clueless on that board's TDP. Also 140W?

If I was in your shoes, I would honestly not go for either. Your res is shows 1050p, VERY close to 1080p. Also, upgrading from a 6-core to this won't be much of an upgrade. If anything, keep saving up for something a bit better. Maybe add another 8gb or RAM?

Thanks for the reply ZeroHour060. I was thinking about a new monitor because my current one is a analog VGA, although a pretty good one specs wise(5ms, 300cd/m2).
Also i would like some HDMI inputs for my console, tv box etc. Adding more RAM could be a problem since i have 2 slots used, and the first one is blocked by the cooler. It would disable the dual channel if i added a 3rd stick.

Performance wise there are arguments for both sides. Really swings game to game. With that said and more games taking up multi-threading and core designs, next-gen titles will really make use of the extra cores. BUT it's not 100% required to get (subjectively) great performance.

yes intel is probably always going to have best single core preformance, the games are core hungry but they are more hungry for single core real speed…

For now - Watch this space. Times will change as interactive entertainment in all forms will require much greater levels of processing.

Give it a year or two and you'll start to see that single core speeds will be dropped for low clocked multi core processors.

Even intel is moving this way with their i7 5960x 8 core, 16 thread beast.

AMD has something in the works. Hush hush atm.

I personally choose AMD chipsets because I rather their performance from a workstation point of view, which is 60% of what I do on my machine, gaming fills the rest.

Render times, compression and other tasks I believe run at lower overall times compared to intels options (which I have tried).

In the end it doesn't really matter. Choose what's best for you, your needs and your budget.
