It's normal.
You can pair this CPU with GeForce GTX 980 SLI if you want.

Really great CPU, fantastic performance. I'm planning on keeping this for a long time. It's possible to overclock this a little even if it isn't k - I was able to raise the speed from 3.4 to 3.6Ghz (turbo speed from 3.9 to 4.15Ghz)

I honestly have no idea why. I know that the non-K processors have no overclock, but for some reason mine can albeit slightly. I adjusted the BCLK in the BIOS to from 85-100Mhz to 91.5-106.5 Mhz, resulting in a 5% overclock. That's the safe point. A bit more and it becomes unstable.

Bought the processor at around August 2014. Maybe earlier builds of the i7-4770 can overclock a little bit?

It's overclockable it just has a locked multiplier. You have a base clock (200 for my CPU but it depends on your processor) and that you can adjust if your motherboard has the options, but you also have a multiplier (20 stock on my cpu) so 200x20=4000mhz or 4ghz. In the non-k CPUs the multiplier is locked

Will this CPU enable me to game with it for a year or two before I need to upgrade ? My mobo is LGA 1150. Note that this is NOT the K model, so no OC.
