APU A10-6800K Quad-Core Game Requirement Analysis

APU A10-6800K Quad-Core is a performance CPU based on the 32nm, Piledriver architecture.


It offers 4 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 4.1GHz, which may go up to 4.4GHz and 4MB of L2 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Core and Virtualization are activated and the processor has the clock multiplier unlocked, meaning it can be overclocked easily.


The processor integrates powerful Graphics called Radeon HD 8670D, with 384 Shader Processing Units, clocked at 844MHz, which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 100W.


It is a powerful Quad Core whose performance is good. It's thus capable of running most applications smoothly without any problem.

Is this worth the upgrade? from my current AMD A6-5400K?
I don't plan on using the Integrated graphics and my motherboard is FM2 only and I don't want to get a whole new motherboard.

Altough i reccomend a cheaper Athlon II if you don't want to use the iGPU

i think that you would have some bottleneck trying to use either cpu with that card, but im not good at judging bottleneck, so im probably wrong. anyway, this cpu (the a10) is better than the phenom 2 x4 965
