Pentium II 233MHz Game Requirement Analysis

The Pentium II was basically a more consumer-oriented version of the Pentium Pro. It was cheaper to manufacture because of the separate, slower L2 cache memory. The improved 16-bit performance and MMX support made it a better choice for consumer-level operating systems, such as Windows 9x, and multimedia applications. Combined with the larger L1 cache and improved 16-bit performance, the slower and cheaper L2 cache's performance impact was reduced. General processor performance was increased while costs were cut.

I just resurrected my old PII 233 Dell GX1 to be a classic gaming PC after I got tired of compatibility headaches with VM's.. A quick clean out and fresh Windows 98SE install and it still runs like a champ after a decade or so in poor storage.. Say what you will, But these things are built like tanks

I have two CPU's with Pentium II 233, but do not have a pair of little IDE HDDs and I am too lazy to ride all over again! xD ; I have a IBM CPU with a 500mhz Celeron (socket 378, working as the first day) and a CPU Pentium III 700Mhz Slot1 (MoBo rest in peace, capacitors), I hope to find a mobo… someday . :s
