Core i7-4510U 2-Core 2.0GHz Game Requirement Analysis

Core i7-4510U 2-Core 2.1GHz is a super energy efficient mobile processor based on the 22nm, Haswell microarchitecture.

It offers 2 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 2.1GHz, which may go up to 3.1GHz and 4MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, HyperThreading, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.

The processor integrates powerful Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 4400, with 20 Execution Units, initially clocked at 200MHz and that go up to 1100MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 15W.

It offers average performance. This means it will become a bottleneck in some demanding applications.

Hello everybody, I have a question. I recently bought a dell inspiron 5000 with this cpu and a gt 840m 2gb. But when I compare the performance to my old akoya (i5-3210m and gt 730m 2gb) it is severely outperformed. I tried minecraft

as a little test, and got only half of the fps (55 with an occasional hiccup vs 120). I also noticed my cpu working at 100 %.
Am I doing something wrong? I used the performance battery scheme, plugged in my wall socket and made sure

I wasn't playing on integrated graphics. Most benchmarks I find do say the i7-4510u performs better than the i5-3210m, but this isn't true in my case.. Any idea? Should I return the dell anD search for something else?sorry for the long post

What you are saying is bizarre, please be sure that you have the i7 by cpu z or even better speccy. If u really do have that then try to format your laptop as a software issue might make your cpu heavily loaded. Another thing u can try is

Open your Nvidia control panel and check if Minecraft is using the intergrated graphics which I suspect it is, if it is change it to use the graphics card.

You can't do that because it's a notebook, even if you could do it, would damage the notebook.

You can change graphics cards in Notebooks as long as your graphics are separate, however I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you know what your'e doing but if you wanted to I would put in a GTX 970M
