Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz Review
The Pentium Dual-Core brand was used for mainstream x86-architecture microprocessors from Intel from 2006 to 2009 when it was renamed to Pentium. The processors are based on either the 32-bit Yonah or (with quite different microarchitectures) 64-bit Merom-2M, Allendale, and Wolfdale-3M core, targeted at mobile or desktop computers.
In terms of features, price and performance at a given clock frequency, Pentium Dual-Core processors were positioned above Celeron but below Core and Core 2 microprocessors in Intel's product range. The Pentium Dual-Core was also a very popular choice for overclocking, as it can deliver optimal performance (when overclocked) at a low price.

no, a g41 motherboard is NOT for an enthusiast and does not OC well. If you want to OC your CPU, go for a P43/P45 chipset motherboard and OC your CPU up to 3.5GHz with stock Intel cooler ;)

you're welcome... you can OC your CPU via RAM timings, but I doubt it would be stable though

I got mine to 4.2GHz on air. It runs daily on 3.3 / 3.6GHz.
100 stars from me, as I play latest games just fine. Only problem is StarCraft 2, which I have abandoned, because it does not support overclocked hardware. Blizzard has gone mad.
e5200 FTW! I'm not getting a new rig until it dies out or it can't handle games anymore at medium settings. I expect late 2013, early 2014.
A CHAMPION!

I think it is under-rated. I have one in my rig and its performance is suprisingly good and its very accessible for overclock. I may not be objective, but I think it deserves GD Rating 5.

That CPU is very good.Get a better GPU and 4 GB RAM in dual channel (2 sticks of 2 GB RAM)
I had that CPU and it worked verry well with a HD 6670 1GB DDR5 or NVidia GT 630 1 GB DDR5.With this configuration at your resolution you will be able to play almost any game at playable fps...Crysis 3 on LOW will have 30 + fps for sure :)

Superb CPU, overclocked to 4,2 GHz easy, with a medium motherboard, and the M0 version. The R versions are better, and can push to 4,5GHz or more, on a good motherboard.
I use a HD4850 and 4Gb RAM 1066 at various ratios.
Great overclocker!

Yep, that's the one! Like I said: medium P45 mobo.
Got it to boot in Windows to 4,4GHz, but I haven't had the patience to tweak it to run properly.
Air cooled, of course.
L.E.: I pushed the voltage to high values for that extra 200MHz.
NOT RECOMMENDED for those that don't know exactly what they are doing!
Now I run it cool& quiet @3,3GHz.

i have one too, combined with X800XL Club version and 2 Gbytes of RAM(slows PC a bit) but it's very good for price and power. i wouldn't change it for any AMD
