FX-8370 Game Requirement Analysis

FX-8370 is a high-end CPU based on the 32nm Piledriver architecture.

It offers 8 Physical Cores (8 Logical), initially clocked at 4.1GHz, which may go up to 4.3GHz and 8MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Core and Virtualization are activated and the clock multiplier is unlocked, meaning it can be overclocked easily.

The processor DOES NOT integrated any graphics. and has a rated board TDP of 125W.

Benchmarks indicate its performance is only around 4% better than previous AMD FX-8350 and so powerful Core i5 Processors are still faster.

NOOO, you can't put a FX-9370 with 550W PSU, and a bad one too?! You could burn your PC, VS Series are really bad, butthey are cheap, and you get what you pay for, I'd say wait for Zen and upgrade your PSU first.

8370 doesn't make a big difference, too expensive for less improvement.

If you are on a budget or don't want to change your motherboard, yes. I'm considering the same. If you are willing to wait and save up some more money, get an AMD Zen CPU when they come out.

For either one, make sure your motherboard can handle it, and you have the right socket!

From the looks of it, the 970A-G43 can only support a CPU with a wattage of 95 or below. The FX-8370 is 125W and therefore should not be used in your motherboard.

In that case, I would wait until AMD releases their Zen CPUs and upgrade both your motherboard and CPU at the same time. Or if you want, there's Intel.

No you cant put this CPU on your motherboard, because they use different sockets. Your CPU uses a FM2 socket, while the FX 8370 uses a AM3+ socket.

I would honestly wait for a year, because next year will see the arrival of AMD's Zen and hopefully Skylake-E processors, which is what i'm saving up for. right now, the best bang for the buck upgrade for you is a gpu upgrade. something like an r9 280-380, or a gtx 960 are good gpus for around $200, but ive got a GTX 970 that i love, and i think itll hold me steady until the next gen of GPUs come out. if yo uare lucky you can find used or refurbished 970 for $260-300 Hope that this helps.

the stock cooler can handle it more than perfectly fine.
The CM Hyper 212 can cool it to 40C under full load(100% with stress tests, a.k.a worst case scenario) on stock speeds.

Well maybe a little, more like 45C max, but from what I've seen, a fx 8350 clocked at 4.8Ghz runs at 50-53C on full load with a Cooler Master V6. Of course the hyper 212 is weaker, but the cpu is at stock speeds in this case.

And when you say full load you mean some stress test? Not just gaming
Because there is difference when I let 1 hour pass in intel burn test I have some 54-57C and thats undervolted 8350 on 4Ghz, while gaming its only some 40C
