Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Game Requirement Analysis

Intel Core i3-4170 is a middle-class dual core processor clocked at 3.7 GHz. It has 22 nm lithography and a power consumption of 51 watts. It has its turbo boost disabled therefore it cannot increase its speed while running demanding games. It is high end processor whose performance is extremely good thus capable of running most demanding games and applications smoothly paired with an appropriate GPU of course.

I have it and its g8. you won't be sorry for getting it with some mid lvl card like 1050-1060 gtx and you're good to go to play new games for next 2-3 years on medium/high with solid 30-40fps. enough said.

Would this go well with a GTX 950 SC 2gb? And would there be a bottleneck alongside it?

Almost. Idle, my is in the 30s and 40s depending of weather (right now its 29 idle). Under load it gets to 50-61 (maybe was a bit higher sometimes). I am on stock cooler. As long it doesnt goes over like 75 under load it should be ok.

I learned for the temperature, it's all good. Yes, and I have same stock cooler. CPU works great :) I have a plan to sell the current GPU, and buy a new one.. stronger and that's it. Thanks for your replay.

i3 4170 or go for an i5. But dont pay almost 150 bucks for an i3 4330. I would have taken the 4170 as well. But when I bought mine it wasnt out yet.

Thanks for replay. If I can, I will buy i5 4460. And if not, then one of the two CPU's. Whether this has a processor i3 4170, as well as i3 4330: "Among its many features, Turbo Boost and HyperThreading are activated" ?

It says that i3 4330 better to 35%, and i3 4170 better for 40% of mine. Believe me, I'd have i5.If not, then I'll have to buy i3. Just tell me this, of the two processors: whether it will work BF4 without stuttering if I buy i3 cpu. Thanks.

I3 4330 doesnt has turboboost. 4330 is waste of money. Either 4170 or i5.

Just look up intel webpage for 4330. There you will see no turbo boost. There is very little difference between i3 and i5 in gaming.

You're right, neither of them don't have TURBO BOOST.
Basically, if I do not buy i5 4460, then to take i3 4170?

Yes, if u take socket 1150. But there are also new skylake i3s from socket 1151. Like i3 6100 which has same performance like 4170. People even overclock the 6100 up to 4,5 Ghz. So yes, either i34170, i54460, i54440,i36100. But its up to u.

Or you wait a few months longer for AMDs Zen cpus which come out this year if you open for investing into new mobo.
