Core i7-6700K 4-Core 4.0GHz Game Requirement Analysis

Core i7-6700K 4-Core 4.0GHz is a high-end CPU based on the 14nm, Skylake MicroArchitecture.

It offers 4 Physical Cores (8 Logical), initially clocked at 4.0GHz, which may go up to 4.2GHz and 8MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, HyperThreading, Turbo Boost 2.0 and Virtualization are activated and the processor has its multiplier unlocked.

The processor integrates Powerful Graphics called HD i7 6700K, with 24 Execution Units, initially clocked at 350MHz and that go up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 91W.

Its performance is exceptionally good and enough for even the most demanding applications.

if you upgrade to this one means you need new board and ddr4 ram wich is still expansive these days…still better solution is 4790k but you really need upgrade jet?wait little longer if you can when ddr4 price drops then get this one :)

No, you should upgrade when a quad core is at least 80% better than yours or a 4 core/ 8 threads is 100-110% better than yours, or your CPU doesn't do the job and the one you are looking at will.

if you check online benchmarks there are some differences in performance around 1% but only in some cases in most iv seen theres not enough to matter so the classification of 0% isnt strictly true but its fair enough tbh :)

Same performance than mine at stock speeds. Does that mean that this skylake proccesor will perform equally even on multithreaded applications?

No, maybe I didnt explain myself correctly. I said it possitively for 6700K. Not even a 4790k can beat a sixcore i7 processor on multithreaded applications at stock speeds, but this one (apparently) does.

Its not out so I just thought you are speculating
From leaked benchmarks and tests, S versions is just 5-8% faster than haswell - which is not that bad but there is no way 4 core will perform better in multithreaded applications than your 6 core
