how much can i overclock my cpu. Im using dark rock 3 cpu cooler (190w TDP).
Also i have Fractal define C case with 4x 140mm fans. 2x Fan input airfloat and 2x output airfloat.
i dont want to overheat the system. Also i need to know will the use of overclocked cpu might damage the cpu in longterm use.

Something tells me it's NOT 4% better than 4960X. By my calculations, it should be 20% worse.

Zlib test runs at 76MB/s for 2 threads @ 3.6GHz. That puts 4960X to 456MB/s.
7700K runs at 378MB/s as expected.
19% difference

Lol so compressing and decompressing. That would also mean that the Ryzen 5 1600x is stronger than this chip at gaming as well :/ except it isn't….

for gaming alone it it actually about 10% worst. Benchmarks and business solutions are where your cpu will shine.

well I know its a little worse in gaming but its a massive performance increase in basically every multicore workload, I thought GD took in account for full performance not just gaming.

First Intel i7 (4 cores) that beats my OC. :/
Thought Kaby Lake was just 3-5% better than Skylake. Never lucky.

why is it 21% better than the 6700k… even the most generous reviews have it at just shy of 10% different and is actually worst(less than a %) if they are at the same clock.
