Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz Review
Core 2 is a brand encompassing a range of Intel's consumer 64-bit x86-64 single-, dual-, and quad-core microprocessors based on the Core microarchitecture. The single- and dual-core models are single-die, whereas the quad-core models comprise two dies, each containing two cores, packaged in a multi-chip module. The introduction of Core 2 relegated the Pentium brand to the mid-range market, and reunified laptop and desktop CPU lines, which previously had been divided into the Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Pentium M brands.
The Core microarchitecture returned to lower clock rates and improved the usage of both available clock cycles and power when compared with the preceding NetBurst microarchitecture of the Pentium 4/D-branded CPUs. The Core microarchitecture provides more efficient decoding stages, execution units, caches, and buses, reducing the power consumption of Core 2-branded CPUs while increasing their processing capacity. Intel's CPUs have varied widely in power consumption according to clock rate, architecture, and semiconductor process, shown in the CPU power dissipation tables.

Hi, Amer
I think u will need more powerful fan, try to use the best fan. I think ur pc should be as cool as possible.
Do not forget to fullfill all fan slots at ur casing too. It will help a lot.. :)
best regards,
Randhy

With stock cooler you can easily go upto 3.2ghz (which i believe takes the bus speed from 266 to 300.) Used E7500 for 3years with overclocked value of 3.2ghz with gigabyte g41mt-s2p until finally upgrading.

Obviously its the clock speed; your e6850 is clocked @3.0Ghz while this one is clocked @2.93Ghz. The other diff is the L2 cache, 4Mb and 3Mb respectively. Also, the die size and technology used, 65nm and 45nm.

Try with bus speed of 295 with stock cooler that will take your CPU speed to 3.24Ghz.. however I used to set bus speed of 300 (i.e 3.3Ghz) with my gigabyte motherboard but with asus g41 board it was 295

Bought this CPU and a Single channel ddr3 board with 4GB ram for about $200. OC'ed the e7500 to 3.8ghz on air (can get to 4ghz, but its fairly unstable) Deals with everything i've ripped through it. rendering music, gaming, encoding video, openCL and others. much better then my old Athlon x64 ;)
Tero

Single channel? :O
I doubt you'll find a DDR3 motherboard that has only single channel memory controller ;)

CPU plays a part in it also, BF3 isn't really meant to be played with a dual core ;)

Amazing processor ;) and easy to OC even though its already that old its still kicking ass ;) OCed it to 3.2 Ghz. I'm soon going to get a new Cooler and then I'll try to reach 3.6 - 4 Ghz ;) I mean of course its a lot for a core like that but I saw people having 4.4 Ghz with that core xD anyway I am going to try to play BF3 and as far as I have seen no one had problems with BF3 and E7500 on med - high settings ;)
