Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Review
The Phenom II triples the shared L3 cache size from 2MB (in the original Phenom line) to 6MB, leading to benchmark performance gains as high as 30%. In another change from the original Phenom, Cool 'n Quiet applies to the processor as a whole, rather than on a per-core basis. AMD implemented this in order to address the mishandling of threads by Windows Vista, which can cause single-threaded applications to run on a core that idles at half its clock rate.
Socket AM2+ versions of the Phenom II (920, 940) lack forward-compatibility with Socket AM3. Socket AM3 versions of the Phenom II are backwards-compatible with Socket AM2+, though this is contingent on motherboard manufacturers supplying BIOS updates.

@ majinos -> let's put it this way. on this site, (recommended) system requirements are put the same as the publisher of a game said. of course, most of the time it's a marketing trick so that people would buy new component(s) just to play a game. so, by constant feedback from users with various rigs, recommended system requirements are changing until we reach the most appropriate one for a specific game. bad company 2 is playable on max settings with a dual-core CPU but one would need to have a solid GPU to "do all the work" instead :)

I am AMD faithful, i unlock the four core but even with two cores the performance is good compared to the price ratio from Intel.

I kinda like the competition thrown out by AMD to Intel. This processor is released, not only to match-up Core 2 Duos but also to compete against i3 processors. If someone is lucky enough, buying this may have himself a triple or quadcore processor (if he unlocked the disabled cores).
