Athlon II X2 260 Game Requirement Analysis

The Athlon II series is based on the AMD K10 architecture and derived from the Phenom II series. However, unlike its Phenom siblings, it does not contain any L3 Cache. There are two Athlon II dies: the dual-core Regor die with 1 MB L2 Cache per core and the four-core Propus with 512 KB per core. Regor is a native dual-core design with lower TDP and additional L2 to offset the removal of L3 cache. The three core Rana is derived from the Propus quad-core design, with one core disabled.

hey is there some kind of ranking system between motherboard brands?
and if so how would these brands rate or stack up to one another: Asrock, Asus, ECS Emaxx, Foxconn, Gigabyte, MSI, ZOTAC

Not really, it's much more complex than that since every motherboard is compatible with certain sockets while incompatible with others. They all have their advantages, for me I prefer Gigabyte, I believe it has the longest durability :D

Pretty good combination but I'd suggest GT 440/GT 530 or HD5670/HD6570 to make sure nothing gets bottlenecked ;)

If you flash your BIOS to latest version, the motherboard would support AM3 socket CPU, or in this case, Athlon II X2 260.

I think it's better to put CPU that is officially supported, or buy a new motherboard.

There's a chance you'll bottleneck the performance of the HD6870 with this CPU, go for a quad-core one :)

=>kibasnowpaw

isnt crosshair V formula is an overkill for an athlon x2??

its the most expensive amd board with a realy strong card and you waste those parts on a athlon dual core?? i think that rig deserves at least the e 8400 or an athlon ii x4
