Core i5-680 3.6GHz Game Requirement Analysis

Core i5-680 3.6GHz is a performance CPU based on the 45nm, Nehalem architecture.

It offers 2 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 3.6GHz, which may go up to 3.86GHz and 4MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Hyper-Threading, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.

The processor integrates very weak Graphics called Intel i5 680, with XX Execution Units, clocked at 733MHz which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 73W.

It offers average performance. This means it will become a bottleneck in some demanding applications.

Your CPU is a real quadcore while this i5 is a dual core with HT.

also, this i5 is only dual-core and not quad-core, so yours, supporting hyperthreading, being of newer architecture, and having a decent turbo boost(not so sure about the last) is better

its very true.. you can see that by the noumber of socket tpes they got..

the 1366, 1156, 1155, 775  etc

and its all just to get more money ,

unlike amd which sells there high end proccesors at the same price as intel lowest end proccesor and even there best and new Bulldozer series that will come out this year can use a socket that is almost 6 years old(the am2+ socket which can be used on a am3 CPUs) and thats just user friendly

@reaper15058832: because people still buy enough processors with the given prices, companies make so much profit with these things…. We pay executives for their longlasting, luxury summer vacations! Arghh! They can still do enough with less earnings :/
