Phenom II X6 1045T Review
The Phenom II triples the shared L3 cache size from 2MB (in the original Phenom line) to 6MB, leading to benchmark performance gains as high as 30%. In another change from the original Phenom, Cool 'n Quiet applies to the processor as a whole, rather than on a per-core basis. AMD implemented this in order to address the mishandling of threads by Windows Vista, which can cause single-threaded applications to run on a core that idles at half its clock rate.
Socket AM2+ versions of the Phenom II (920, 940) lack forward-compatibility with Socket AM3. Socket AM3 versions of the Phenom II are backwards-compatible with Socket AM2+, though this is contingent on motherboard manufacturers supplying BIOS updates.

Would this processor be a good upgrade without changing motherboard? I mean, mine has a 95 w TDP and its socket is am3, would this be good enough?

Yes, I would do it if, there is a 10-15% difference between Athlon II (no L3 cache) and Phenom II (with L3 cache), something more as the use, in addition to the games and applications that require more cores that only 4 obviously would increase performance. What motherboard do you have?, Maybe you could slightly increase the Ghz (overclocked) to x4 620 or x6 1045T (3.0Ghz at least, not to spend the TDP of the motherboard). :)

The other thing is you could sell your motherboard and processor to buy a mobo AM3 + (970 Chipset) and FX6300. : D There will be games where the difference between these processors is not much (x4 620 vs x6 1045T), but in others that difference is much more palpable, especially here in the future.

Will this be alright for video editing? Should I decide to make videos of myself being horrible at video games, I want to at least give whoever watches me a properly edited experience.

How much of an improvement would this be in gaming (current rig is enough for my non-gaming things) since this is cheap now?

Yea', I sometimes think of that because in some games like BF3 the UI scale takes too much space. In other games it's ok.

Not anymore.... I asked the admins to change it. Now back to regular. To me, it is for the best, because people would have a better understanding of where their CPU is. The Athlons has scored 9. Something was wrong.

I would say Phenom II X4 965BE, with an overclock of around 4.0 GHz.

My brother has this processor along with an NVIDIA GTX 560 and 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM and it's more than capable of playing BF3, MW3, Brink, Mass Effect 3 all maxed out at max FPS.

Well this is a decent 6-core CPU so no wonder :)
