Pentium Dual Core E5700 3GHz Review
The Pentium Dual-Core brand was used for mainstream x86-architecture microprocessors from Intel from 2006 to 2009 when it was renamed to Pentium. The processors are based on either the 32-bit Yonah or (with quite different microarchitectures) 64-bit Merom-2M, Allendale, and Wolfdale-3M core, targeted at mobile or desktop computers.
In terms of features, price and performance at a given clock frequency, Pentium Dual-Core processors were positioned above Celeron but below Core and Core 2 microprocessors in Intel's product range. The Pentium Dual-Core was also a very popular choice for overclocking, as it can deliver optimal performance (when overclocked) at a low price.

How does this make any sense? It's 92% better than my CPU and this CPU only runs Battlefield 3 at 20FPS while mine does like 48FPS?

This Pentium Dual Core is actually very old. It's already 3 years old. Plus, Intel noticed a flaw in it. It's clock speed it high, yes, but the dual core part is actually not good, it sometimes crashes on you, or even dies on you, that's why they made it very slow

depends on you and what games you like to play. you will have to get a new motherboard. if you tell me how much you can spend and what you want to play i can make some suggestions.

actually for rest of your system, cpus better than core 2 duo E 8XXX or core 2 quad Q6XXX or maybe some 8XXX will be bottlenecking so from my personal experience i reccomend you E8500 :)) it's cheap compared to its performance and easy to overlock, also E8600 is a little better but not as big perform difference as in price ;)

Core 2 Quad series is a good thing, but if you have Less money or can't afford the AMD 8-core, you can get Intel core i5 3XXXK or Intel core i7 3770K. It's the maximum range i can give you.

Hey I'm going to buy this because I can't change my mother board that supports LGA 775 so I want to ask some questions does this support 64 bit?
And I have open budget for the gpu so which card should I choose without having bottleneck?
Tero
06:49 Jan-22-2013

Yes this has 64bit instruction set :)
Any rank 7 GPU should be the maximum with this CPU ;)

Well, depending on your PSU and how ventilated your system is, I'd say go for a ATI Radeon HD 7750. If your system isn't well-ventilated, get the EVGA Nvidia GeForce GT 640 2GB DDR3 edition. That is an external-ventilator, it's very easy to install, and runs all of my games on ultra.

I have this processor and it meets ALL my game requirements. So, I'd advise that next time, you do some research first. I mean, yeah, it has two cores and isn't as fast as ATI's and Intel's other processors, but it's a quality CPU for a first-time buyer.
