Core i7-2600K 4-Core 3.40GHz Review
Intel Core i7 is an Intel brand name for several families of desktop and laptop 64-bit x86-64 processors using the Nehalem microarchitecture that are marketed for the business and high-end consumer markets. The Core i7 brand is intended to differentiate these processors from Core i5 processors intended for the main-stream consumer market and Core i3 processors intended for the entry-level consumer market.
Core i7 is a successor to the Intel Core 2 brand. The Core i7 identifier was first applied to the initial family of processors codenamed Bloomfield introduced in 2008. In 2009 the name was applied to Lynnfield and Clarksfield models. Prior to 2010, all models were quad-core processors. In 2010, the name was applied to dual-core Arrandale models, and the Gulftown Core i7-980X Extreme processor which has six hyperthreaded cores.

well the FX sure is one hekl of a CPU, I was gonna get it at first. it might hsve better performance overall but for the 2-3 years to come games will use up to 4 cores MAX. I think the i7 is better for now but both can max out anything for now.

So, in the Crysis 3 requirements page this CPU is shown as 50% better than mine. Whereas here it is 169% faster (which seems more legit). Why is that? :/

Worth upgrading to this from the i5 3450? :D
Mazasrb
13:22 Oct-12-2012

No it isn't, i72600K is faster but spending £221.57 and dropping to an older architecture isn't worth. If you want upgrade you can go for i7-3770K or i7-3930K although your CPU is already fast enough for any game, GPU upgrade would be a better move.

Mazasrb
13:19 Sep-28-2012

Yeah 600W will be enough, you need only two 6pin 75W connectors. No need for any '+2pin' connector.Yeah thermaltake is one of the best.

One guy in other site confusing me that this Mobo is bad for crossfire compared to single card, why is that coz. 1 x PCIe 3.0? If its bad why they released this mobo with crossfire support,i dont understand...I am giving HD 6850 to my bro and i am buying new card soon...So what card i should buy for better crossfire in future for my rig, HD 6870 or HD 7850 ? or its always better to buy single powerful cards in future instead of crossfire ?
Mazasrb
09:25 Sep-29-2012

This motherboard supports PCI-E 3.0.One 7850 can't reach the limit of PCI-E 2.0.In my opninion it's better to take 7970 GHz edition than two 7850/6870 becasue in crossfire you can use both card frame buffer. From two CF/SLIed card you can use VRAM of only one card. Also one 7970 wil consumpt less power and has 3GB of VRAM.You can take Radeon HD 7970 GHz Vapor-X 3GB.If you want to CF 7970 in the future you would need PCI-E 3.0 (it gives 16GB/s while PCI-E 2.0 gives 8GB/s).But for in order to use PCI-E 3.0 you would need 3rd generation of intel CPU like i7-3770/i5-3570K.
