Core i7-2630QM 4-Core 2.0GHz Review

Intel Core i7 is an Intel brand name for several families of desktop and laptop 64-bit x86-64 processors using the Nehalem microarchitecture that are marketed for the business and high-end consumer markets. The Core i7 brand is intended to differentiate these processors from Core i5 processors intended for the main-stream consumer market and Core i3 processors intended for the entry-level consumer market.
Core i7 is a successor to the Intel Core 2 brand. The Core i7 identifier was first applied to the initial family of processors codenamed Bloomfield introduced in 2008. In 2009 the name was applied to Lynnfield and Clarksfield models. Prior to 2010, all models were quad-core processors. In 2010, the name was applied to dual-core Arrandale models, and the Gulftown Core i7-980X Extreme processor which has six hyperthreaded cores.

the Core i7-2630QM 4-Core 2.0GHz is really a nice processor i can play all the till now with this processor and i got RADEON HD 6770m graphics card with this processor they both are awesome...........;P

I have this cpu in my lappy, on Passmark.com benchies its within range of a core i7 2500 that is beast for a laptop cpu, they have the 2670 which is the same chip with a mere .200 mhz increase waste

@blayzking haha yeah the intel hd 3000 graphics are not all that bad. I sometimes play my games using the hd 3000 graphics.

the Core i7-2630QM 4-Core 2.0GHz is a very good processor.does justice to a lot of games.the only downside to my rig is the gpu but still i am able to play some graphically demanding games so cant complain.

I agree. Potnik tested BF3 beta and his cpu only reached 56% and he only has a dual core. So quad cores are still unnecessary in most games.

Quite good processor, never uses more than 30% for me though o.O (not even during GTA IV / Crysis etc.)
