Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ Review
The Athlon 64 X2 is the first dual-core desktop CPU designed by AMD. It was designed from scratch as native dual-core by using an already multi-CPU enabled Athlon 64, joining it with another functional core on one die and connect both via a shared dual-channel memory controller/north bridge and additional control logic. The initial versions are based on the E-stepping model of the Athlon 64 and, depending on the model, have either 512 or 1024 KB of L2 Cache per core. The Athlon 64 X2 is capable of decoding SSE3 instructions (except those few specific to Intel's architecture).
In June 2007, AMD released low-voltage variants of their low-end 65 nm Athlon 64 X2, named Athlon X2. The Athlon X2 processors feature reduced TDP of 45 Watts

This powered my newer computer that I bought in replacement of my first one with the Intel Pentium 4 HT. That computer is now working as it should be once more. The new PC I bought died because of motherboard shorting 16 month later; it was able to be 'brought back to life' but how many times I was uncertain. Its dead now.
However, the processor that was in it, was this one. This processor is fabulous for doing almost anything at home and great with a little bit of gaming. It can play Crysis and Crysis 2 enjoyably, Crysis 2 at max even with post processing at medium and no DX11 or high res texture. Not overclock friendly but I pushed it to 2.75GHz from 2.4; that's a massive overclock compared to everyone else apparently. Good CPU!
