This will bottleneck a 660 ti, but you can fix that by overclocking it. It's really easy to push this CPU to 4 GHz if you have a good mobo.

Am I getting this right? This CPU has 2 modules, consisting of 2cores in each module? But windows recognizes these modules as cores, therefore displays it as 2cores 4 threads? When actually its is 4core 4threads?

the cpu has 2 modules consisting of 4 cores in total the cpu behaves as if it was a dual core with ht due to the possession of integer cores, cores that share resources per module, its amd's version of hyperthreading its a lot better than intels hyperthreading in theory it just need a powerful architecture to back it up

windows is detecting modules rather than individual cores as i stated it is like a physical hyperthreading so windows may not know how to properly read it

"It is kind of a true quad, in that it has four integer cores, however it only has one front-end. I would say that it is probably more like a poor quad than anything else – and it would behave more like a dual-core with (extremely good, like 70% scaling rather than 15%) hyperthreading ... With a high end card and this cpu, could I max out crysis 3 with a res of 1920 x 1080p.
emilsz
10:07 May-05-2013

you could max this out with a high end card like 7950/660ti or better, but I really doubt that this cpu will be able to handle such cards in a cpu demanding game as crysis 3. I would be looking at a fx 6300 and a 660ti in order to max it with smooth fps :)

There is no compatibility issues. but if you mean "bottlenecking" then yes there will be a *slight* bottleneck but nothing major, you will probably not even notice it

upgrade cpu or gpu?
i'd say you wait for next generation cpus/gpus
that combination is still running very good, you can max almost all games as of now in that res, plus you can also overclock your cpu if bottleneck is really bothering you
