Well, I don't think so you can put a new card. It doesn't matter if it's NVIDIA or AMD. Laptops often can't be upgraded except for ram, dvd writer, hard drive etc. Only gaming laptops can be upgraded such as Toshiba Qosmio, Alienware, etc because they are designed that way. The one you and I buy are the ordinary ones. Well, even they come with a graphic card mostly but that doesn't mean it can be upgraded. The reason is that these graphic cards are soldered with the motherboard and hence it can't be detached whereas for gaming laptops, the graphic cards are screwed to the motherboard. Such laptops can have their graphic cards upgraded or removed.
Hope that helped :)

Welcome buddy! I'm glad I could help. And yeah Intel HD 3000 isn't so bad. You should be able to play games like call of duty modern warfare and modern warfare 2 on at least low-medium settings. Those are my favourite games :D
If you have any further questions to ask, please do ask :)

well... i know how effective they are, so i say doesn't worth buying them for lowering 5-10% (usually, but 5 C degree in my case). at idle you won't notice the difference, but at load you will, but only if you use a hardware monitoring software (e.g. CPUID Hardware Monitor). so if you find a good one cheap, but it, otherwise doesn't worth spending more than 50$ for a cooling pad. i have a cooler master one, but it isn't as useful as you imagine:)

I seriously doubt it. Laptops components are always designed in a a way that they'll work good with each other :)
And you must be forgetting about the newest innovations in modern technology; Turbo Boost and Hyper Threading :D :D
