Core i5-2450M 2.5GHz Review
Core i5-2450M 2.5GHz is a middle-class mobile processor based on the 32nm, Sandy Bridge architecture.

It offers 2 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 2.5GHz, which may go up to 3.1GHz and 3MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.

The processor integrates weak Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 3000, with 12 Execution Units, initially clocked at 650MHz and that go up to 1300MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 35W.

It offers average performance. This means it will become a bottleneck in some demanding applications.

Hyper-threading. It means that for each physical core, the OS addresses two logic cores and it shares the workload between them when it can. It's also one of the reasons Intel is dominating the CPU market right now. At least that's my understanding of it, I could be horribly wrong.

If you ask me it's not your is 4 cores and this one is 2 cores also it says nothing about having hyberthreading.
Also yours has a better on board gpu.

More cores mean nearly nothing if each core are far weaker. Having 4 cores do help but in this case the Intels 2 cores are stronger than AMDs 4 cores.

I own this CPU in my HP ProBook 4730S laptop and it runs at 2.8GHz not overclocked, no turbo-boost?
BTW… overclocking this CPU is not recommended as laptops usually don't have very powerful cooling system and it can be easily burned to death as both CPU and GPU share the same cooling system.
