Pentium 4 HT 530 is basically a Pentium 4 3.0GHZ but with Hyper-Threading technology support. It still has only one core but the Hyper-Threading allows it to perform multiple tasks as if there's more than one core doing the work. This obviously doesn't affect today's games as a single 3.0GHZ core even with HT isn't, most probably, enough to handle today's games at high settings.
Compared to the original Pentium 4 3.0GHZ the performance is significantly better but the Prescott architecture is one of intel's worst and the performance may hinder due to overheating issues.
Besides, it currently runs in Windows XP, but it's an Socket 458 version (from 2004)
Its a nice CPU for its time. The HT is a nice bonus. Paired with 6600GT AGP and 2 gigs of 400 mhz RAM can play almost any old game. I had it, i played alot of old games on it, XP style.
I'm using an ATI HD 5670 DDR3 with this CPU. it bottlenecked my PC a lot ….
This is my curent cpu. im quite impressed about this cpu performance. Im looking forward for intel core 2 duo/quad upgrade:)
I would recommend it :) or go for a Pentium D as they are quite powerful.. the dual core does come in handy over two threads :D
i still have it
can run games very good cpu
Its a great CPU.. I got a 2.8Ghz P4HT but would like a 2.3+Ghz core 2 duo as it does cause some games to lag quite bit.. cough cough doom3 cough ;)

I have this in my Linux LAN party PC. It's slow as hell and sounds like a friggin washing machine in my entire house. But Ubuntu works good on it (apart from some mouse problems)
