I feel kind've trapped, because I dont want to support what Nvidia did. But I dont want to bother going to the other team because of my past experiences. shouldn't have to feel like that.

I do tend to play games regularly, but this CPU was the best i could get without upgrading my Motherboard or exceeding my price limit unfortunately, i guess what i meant to say was will this perform well with a GTX 660, and can i play modern games on atleast high settings?

Yes it has a slower memory transfer rate.

If that is a problem depends on the game, Shadow of Morder for example caches textures for later use, so a lower bandwidth isn't a problem.

Skyrim on the other hand is really Vram intensive, when modded Skyrim goes over 3,5 on 970 you probably have micro stuttering.

But Nvidia is working on a driver to make the game "aware" of the slower 512MB, so that game only store stuff in it that doesn't need much bandwidth, then it should not affect performance

So when 970 is using last 0.5GB is slower?(i.e. constantly lower framerate) Framedrop? Same?

The 970 is spilt so you have 3,5GB @224bit and 0,5GB at 32bit basiclly.

That final 0,5 is still faster than swapping to system Ram though

Zili basically the remaining 0.5GB is like swapping, see this scheme to understand what's wrong :)

Is it just me or is Shazam is like really fast after the last few updates? Caught a Simpsons episode last night and I must have just clicked on start recording and it had already recognized the song. I'm sure if someone timed it, it must have been even less than a second. Amazing really.

After watching that vid Tzz, I just have one thing to say.
Why ALWAYS the reference in ads and commercials about a village in Africa?!?
Seriously, I'm getting peeved off with that stupid little phrase.
