So do you have to have Battlefield 3 Premium for the DLC to work? For example if I just wanted 1 or 2 DLC packs, would it not let me play them because I don't have Premium? That seems to be the vibe I'm getting and that seems really dumb.

I figured out the problem. I had 'EA Servers' selected in the filters and apparently they do not host servers for that game anymore :D
