The battle of the ghillie suits next year has taken yet another twist, as City Interactive has decided to delay Sniper Ghost Warrior 3’s launch until April 2017 in order to work on optimising the CryEngine-powered game. Advantage Sniper Elite 4 now, which is holding firmly onto its February 14th target.
"We’re making an ambitious game and unfortunately still need an extra few months to make sure it will stand up to the expectations of the fans," says CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński. “Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimising the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished."
As ever a good game is always better than a broken one, so waiting another few months from the original January 27th launch isn’t going to hurt. After all, we don’t want another Mafia 3 on our hands.
So as it stands fans of coldly executing a person from upwards of a kilometre away will be getting Sniper Elite 4 on February 14th and Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 on April 4th.
