Following confirmation that Rainbow Six Siege would be getting supported by a second year of content, the Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 Season Pass has appeared on digital storefronts.

Priced at $30 / £25, it’s a similar deal to this year’s version in that you get early access to eight new Year 2 Operators spread across four Seasons. Throughout the year you’ll also get your mitts on eight exclusive bits of headgear, eight uniforms, a Rainbow 6 Carbon weapon charm and 600 Rainbow Bucks to spend in the store.

As a Season Pass holder you'll also get VIP status, meaning 7-day early access to the Operators, a 10% discount on all items, permanent 5% renown boost and two extra daily challenges.

If you don’t want to fork out for a season pass then the maps are still going to be totally free, while the Operators are presumably going to be unlockable with 25,000 Renown which can be earned in-game.

Operators and bonus DLC

  • 8 new Year 2 operators across 4 seasons
  • 8 exclusive headgear customisations
  • 8 exclusive uniform customisations
  • R6 Carbon charm
  • 600 R6 Credits to purchase in-game content

VIP perks

  • 7-day early access to each season’s new Operators.
  • 10% discount in in-game shop
  • 5% Renown boost to unlock in-game content faster
  • 2 extra daily challenges

Aside from being a little extra that long-term Siege players may want to pick up, the interesting thing about these season pass details is that eight new Operators are indeed coming Siege’s way. Considering the rate at which Ubisoft is adding them some thought this would have to slow down to prevent unbalancing the game. With these new Operators for Year Two we’re looking at a total of 36, all with unique abilities and weapons. That’s going to be quite the headache for Ubisoft to manage. We'll just have to wait and see how this pans out.
