We’re only a couple of days away from finding out all the juicy details of the Nintendo Switch and of course ahead of then the internet has turned into an absolute frenzy of speculation. Will Zelda make it for launch? Can we expect solid 3rd party support? What about a console Pokemon? All questions we’re not going to find out the real answer to until the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 event kicks off tomorrow evening. Ahead of then though there’s been a few juicy (if unreliable) leaks, including launch lineup details from US GameStop and Target stores.

Take the heftiest grain of salt with this, but the line-up of games to be announced is allegedly as follows:

  • Dragon Quest X
  • Zelda Breath of the Wild
  • Monster Hunter
  • Splatoon
  • Mario Kart 8
  • NBA 2K17
  • Skyrim: Special Edition
  • Mario
  • Sonic
  • Dragon Quest XI
  • Lego City Undercover
  • Just Dance 2017
  • Project Sonic 2017

That’s according to what is apparently an image taken from Gamestop’s back-end systems. It certainly seems plausible enough to me and I could see all but Dragon Quest XI, Monster Hunter and Project Sonic 2017 make it in time for launch. The addition of a new Monster Hunter would be a huge boost but I can’t see it making it for launch in just two months time.

Meanwhile Target, another US store, has placeholders for 15 different Nintendo Switch games. We don’t know what they are or when they’re coming, but it’s a fairly sure bet that we’re going to see at least 15 games shown during the live presentation.

These are all just rumours for now but I think we’re beginning to get a good idea of just what to expect from the Switch launch. Personally I think we’re going to get Zelda, Mario 3D, Mario Kart 8, Splat2n, Mario Rabbids RPG and Skyrim: Special Edition in time for launch, along with a smattering of other 3rd party titles. Pokemon Stars and Smash Bros Switch will surely be held back for the tail end of the year.

What do you think Nintendo is going to show at the live Switch event? And which games are going to make it in time for launch? Let us know your thoughts!

The Nintendo Switch Presentation live event starts tomorrow, January 12 at 11PM EST / January 13 at 4AM GMT, 5AM CET.
