We’ve got a bit of a fighting game round-up or you now as three new characters have been revealed, one each for Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Street Fighter V and the newly launched Tekken 7 are obviously in direct competition now, vying for players’ time in a genre that practically demands dedication to a single game. In a bit of tit for tat, Bandai Namco announced the arrival of Geese Howard (from SNK’s Fatal Fury fighting series) to Tekken 7, before Capcom announced Abigail (from Final Fight) for SFV. Confused? Bear with me.

Tekken 7 - Geese Howard Reveal

Fans of old-school Neo Geo fighting series may recognise Fatal Fury’s Geese Howard. He's the villain of the franchise and he looks like a coward beating beast.

Street Fighter V - Abigail Reveal

Meanwhile, Street Fighter V fans are getting treated to Abigail as their next DLC character. He’s from Capcom’s Final Fight series, and despite the name, he is, in fact, a man. A big man at that, looking comically large in the reveal trailer, near another scraping the top of the screen. Good luck dodging aerials with that fella.

Dragon Ball FighterZ - Trunks Reveal

Lastly, and a little less confusingly is the reveal of Trunks for Bandai Namco’s gorgeously animated Dragon Ball FighterZ. Unlike the other two, this game isn’t out yet so Trunks won’t be DLC, but it is a little peek at one of the nine fighters that will form its roster. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be out in early 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
