DICE showed off a new behind-the-scenes trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 during Disney’s D23 event this weekend, delving into a single-player campaign which revolves around TIE Fighter ace Iden Versio. It features some all-new in-game footage, touching on the tough decisions a soldier loyal to the Empire must make following the destruction of the second Death Star at the end of the Return of the Jedi.

DICE’s history with single-player campaigns hasn’t been so much checkered as it has awful, but we’ve gladly overlooked them in favour of their multiplayer delights. Battlefield 1’s was a bit of a turning point in that it was actually worth your time, and with Star Wars Battlefront II the studio seems dead set on creating an essential single-player Star Wars experience.

Fingers crossed it’s a little more substantial that Battlefield 1’s campaign as I think we’re long overdue a AAA single-player Star Wars experience. Aside from The Old Republic we’ve been feeding off scraps since Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.

Star Wars Battlefront II will be arriving from a galaxy far,  far away on November 17th, 2017, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
