Tomorrow’s Friday the 13th, and while it’s supposedly unlucky for some, us sick, twisted puppies who love horror games are being treated to the launch of The Evil Within 2. It looks, for want of a better, frankly insane in the launch trailer. Tango Gameworks has really been let loose on the creature designs - that screaming long-faced woman in particular just looks horrific. Fresh underwear, please.
"In The Evil Within 2, Sebastian Castellanos must once again confront unspeakable horrors within the nightmare born from the infamous STEM," explains publisher Bethesda. "This time, however, Sebastian’s mission is personal: He’s searching for his daughter Lily, who he thought he had lost many years ago, and it’s now a race against time as the world crumbles around him. Sebastian must rescue Lily before everything falls apart and they are both lost in STEM."
The Evil Within 2 PC system requirements are obviously already available prior to its launch tomorrow, and you can head on over to its game page to get an estimated readout of performance based on your PC specs. Evil Within 2 uses a custom version of the idTech 5 engine which Tango Gameworks has dubbed ‘STEM Engine’, referencing the Animus-like device used to transport Sebastien’s consciousness into TEW 2’s nightmarish world.
The Evil Within 2 is out on October 13th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
