Creative Assembly has started hiring en masse for an all-new AAA multiformat IP, one which a source close to PCGamesN suggests is “the biggest multiformat project Creative Assembly has ever undertaken.”

The British developer has expanded considerably since being acquired by Sega in 2005, including opening a new studio in Sofia, Bulgaria. Away from the Total War series, Creative Assembly has worked on the likes of Alien Isolation and Halo Wars 2, and it’s this same core team that will be working on the new multiformat game.

Delving into the job listings, CA is advertising for a range of roles including lead technical artists, senior meta game designer, marketing and PR, quality assurance, production, programming, and systems designing.

The ‘senior meta game designer’ will be responsible for working on the depth of the metagame, including progression, live events, world building, online elements, player retention and the in-game economy. Meanwhile, the lead systems designer will develop the “core gameplay systems, such as weapons, movement, abilities, gadgets, health and other underlying gameplay systems.”

It’s difficult to pick out exactly what sort of genre Creative Assembly is leaning towards with this unannounced project, although it sounds as if it will have a number of online elements and potentially RPG progression systems.

They’re already looking or brand managers, marketing and PR so it seems this project may be a little further along that you’d at first assume. Fingers crossed we get a glimpse of this mysterious project soon. If it’s anywhere near as good as Alien Isolation then we’re in for a treat.

What are you hoping to see from CA's unannounced project?
