Deck 9’s gearing up for the launch of the third and final episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, barring the bonus ‘Farewell’ episode due to launch in the new year. Episode 3: Hell is Empty (should've been called Hella Empty, obviously) is out on December 20th and we’ve got a brand new trailer teasing the finale. Suffice to say - spoiler warning if you haven’t played the first two episodes yet.
In Episode 3, Chloe’s intense relationship with Amber hurtling towards a dramatic conclusion, paving the way to the events that eventually lead us to the events of the original Life is Strange.
“The whole development team at Deck Nine have poured their hearts and souls into this game”, said Jeff Litchford, vice president at Deck Nine Games. “We’re truly humbled by the amount of love and passion the fans have shown so far. We are now nearly ready to release this last episode and excited to finally help fans shape the conclusion of this amazing story.”
The original Life is Strange was one of my top three games of the year back in 2015, although I’ll admit I was put off Before the Storm because it’s both a prequel and developed by a different studio. It seems I needn’t have worried on this front as the reaction has been universally positive, and I’ve sent plenty of recommendations for it here on GD too. Now that the final episode is about to launch I think it’s finally time to jump in and see what the fuss is all about.
All this Life is Strange goodness doesn’t here either, with original developers Dontnod confirming earlier this year that Life is Strange 2 is indeed in the works. It’s set to feature an entirely new cast of characters, but aside from that, the rest is a mystery.
