SEGA’s tweeted out a rather curious and cryptic tease. All it contained was an image of a lightbulb and the words “16th January”, presumably the date when the actual announcement of whatever this is, is going to take place.

Well, I’ll be damned if I know what it means. I know what I want it to mean; Dreamcast 2, of course. Or perhaps, “We’re bringing the entire Yakuza series to PC remastered with 4K support.” Or may even a Persona 1-5 PC collection. I could go on - Sonic Adventure 3, Phantasy Star Online 3, Shenmue HD collection. In fact, I can think of a million things I would like it to be. But it’ll be none of those things though because Sega’s dreams don’t seem to often align much with mine these days.

Theoretically, I think it’s likely this could tie in with Sega’s announcement early last year that it was looking to revive a bunch of its older IPs. Obsidian also heavily hinted it was involved in this front, so perhaps it could be a Sega classic brought back from the dead with the helping hand of the RPG maestros.

After all this, it'll inevitably end up being Sonic Forces DLC.

Let your imaginations run riot, just what could Sega be teasing? Much ado about nothing or something major this way comes? Share your ideas in the comments section below!
