Prey 2 Not Cancelled

Despite the constant rumours we have been advised by Bethesda that Prey 2 has not been cancelled. This is great news for gaming. Prey 2 was my game of show at E3 last year, offering a multi-tiered Blade Runner world that you could navigate at pace. You play as a bounty hunter on an alien world, having lost your memory while travelling through a portal from Earth.

What really struck me about Prey 2 was the fast, yet smooth motion a player could traverse the many levels of the high-rise streets of the alien world, while trying to capture a fleeing mark. Hanging from ledges or vaulting across fallen obstacles you could still seamlessly pop blaster shots off with a free hand. Lets take a look at Bethesda's comment on Prey 2 not being cancelled...

Bethesda Announces ---

Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule
