Risen 2 Dark Waters Day one DLC

Risen 2: Dark Waters is a single player fantasy RPG due out in . Its 2009 predecessor enjoyed a better reception on PC (which we covered) than it did on XBox360. Risen 2 is out today on PC and coming August 3rd to consoles (EU).

Risen 2: Dark Waters, the Inquisition dispatches the hero to seek a remedy against the monstrous sea creatures that are interfering with the shipping lines, thus cutting off the islands' supplies. We are advised that with the Risen 2 release today, we will also be treated to some day one DLC. Lets take a look at the press release...

The “Treasure Isle” DLC offers exciting new adventures in the world of Risen 2: Dark Waters. The player will embark on an additional story questline to uncover Captain Steelbeard's legendary treasure – a quest that will continue a plot element from the first Risen game and finally bring it to an exciting conclusion. The story of the DLC revolves around Harlok, a cook on Steelbeard’s ship Elenor, who stole the secret clues that lead to the pirate captain’s hidden treasure. However, it is only with the help of the player that Harlok is able to find it. This quest will take the hero and Patty, Steelbeard’s daughter, to an unknown island that offers new environments to explore with many puzzles to solve, treasures to loot and mysteries to unravel. The player will discover a legendary item (only available in this DLC) - offering his character a permanent stat boost. This DLC will be available for a price of £7.99.

With the DLC, “A Pirate’s Clothes”, having a price of £2.49, the hero can be equipped with impressive looking pirate items that include a hat, boots, trousers, a pistol and a special ring that will boost his ability to gain experience points by 5%.

We are never sure how to take day one DLC and it is becoming more regular. Let us know what your opinion is below.

Day one DLC's are a scam designed to make you pay for the game you already paid for twice.
