As if in answer to Bioshock Infinite slipping to 2013, Bethesda's steampunk game, Dishonored, steps into to take its place. Dishonored's release date is 9th Oct (Us) and 12th Oct (EU).
You will play as the former bodyguard to the Empress, following her assassination. Framed for her murder you go into hiding, operating as a masked assassin in the steampunk city of Dunwall...
Playing as the infamous assassin, Corvo, you wear a signature mask to hide your identity. The industrial whaling city of Dunwall is stricken by plague and governed by a nefarious government who utilise their advanced tech to exert rulership over the populace.
Corvo has been touched by powers of dark forces that bestow supernatural abilities upon him – but at a cost. The truth behind his betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life he once had is gone forever.
Dishonored allows you to remove your foes with a dynamic combat system enabling the combination of supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets. Enemy marks can be hunted through the darkness or you can opt to confront them in the open with weapons drawn.
A playable version of Dishonored will be available at E3 so we will get to experience more then.
