All you zombie lovers, get prepared to start your chainsaws...again! Yep, Left for Dead is back, but it's going to be a little different this time.
And who is going to develop it this time around? Let me tell you...
Last month, Overkill Entertainment(developers of Payday: The Heist), announced a partnership with Valve(the creators of L4D) to make a game that would be "a mix of Payday and Left for Dead". Upon hearing this, every news outlet thought of it as a new Left for Dead. Unfortunately though, thats not the case here.
Chet Faliszek, a developer at Valve, was adamant that the partnership does not mean that they are going share Left for Dead with Overkill Entertainment. That came as a surprise to everyone expecting the opposite. So what is it that they are actually collaborating for? We will have to for any sort of announcement for that. However, Valve did confirm that they are working on a L4D prequel. Explaining the events that took place before the first game. So zombie fans, not to worry.
Meanwhile at Overkill, there was another surprise-collaboration waiting to be heard off. This time, its Overkill Entertainment with 505 Games(publishers of Arma series among others). So your wondering which game is it that these two have collaborated for? Well, its Payday 2. Sequel to OE's last year's game, Payday: The Heist. 505 Games are going to publish it while Overkill develop it. It will be interesting to see the direction they take this time around.
Well, what do you think about Overkill Entertainment's collaboration spree? Are you more excited about a Left for Dead game or Payday 2? Or do you think Valve should stop wasting time on L4F and give us HALF-LIFE!? Let us in our thoughts below.
