Awesome New Vampiric Powers

Information regarding the shrouded The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard has surfaced. Though the information has been fairly sparse until now, this should help quench your gamers' thirst.

The details are about plot, weapons, shouts and the new ingredients that will be present in the DLC. Lets dive in, shall we...

The DLC focuses on the popular undead side of the Elder Scrolls games. Once the DLC is installed it wont be long before the player discovers a new conversation thread about vampire hunting. Exploring this conversation will open up the chance to try and quash the mighty Harkon's vampire army. Of course, its Skyrim so you will of course have the chance to join forces with vampire lord too.

If you get in line with the vampires you are able to choose from some new undeathly perks and eventually become a flying vampire lord yourself. This gets you a power called Vampiric Grip. Think darth Vaders force grip where you can suspend an enemy in the air while draining his health. Oh and it seems like you can also turn into a cloud of bats. Eeexxccccellent!

Obviously being a bloodsucker comes with its downsides too. In vampire form you will get attacked whenever someone sees you, so you will be swapping back to human form regularly.

On the flip side, joining the side of "good" will earn you a crossbow. These powerful weapons can stagger opponents and are ready to fire but naturally take longer to reload than the bow. The Dawnguard will also be able to hire up a new follower type, Armoured Troll. Sheesh.

Ok here is a list of new articles within the game

New Shouts

  • Drain Vitality - Coax both magical and mortal energies from hapless opponent.
  • Summon Durnehviir - Summons the undead dragon Durnehviir from the Soul Cairn
  • Soul Tear - Rips the soul out of an opponent and turns them into an ally.

New Weapons

  • Dwarven Crossbow
  • Steel Crossbow
  • Dragonbone weapons - full set including arrows

New Ingredients

  • Ancestor Moth Wing
  • Chaurus Hunter Antennae
  • Gleamblossom
  • Poison Bloom
  • Yellow Mountain Flower

New Area

There’s also a new region known as Soul Cairn, which is a ethereal land (spirit land) where you can find some quests  and you can get an awesome skeletal stead that can be summoned wherever you are.

Got sick of Skyrim very quickly. Sadly, this plot sounds infinitely more interesting than the core game's plot. I couldn't care less about the new perks, but the new ingredients and weapons sound good. I'll probably pick it up.

Unfortunately, yes. There are a good amount of things I like about Skyrim, but they're outweighed by the things I dislike. I did have a good time with the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests.

I've played multiple characters and I never do more than four of the main story quests. I much prefer messing around in the wilderness and fighting in the civil war to actually saving Skyrim. It is convenient though that the world doesn't end so long as you ignore it. Same in Mass effect 3.
