THQ's newly appointed boss, Jason Rubin is giving one of it's flagship franchises, the popular and ludicrous Saints Row a major push to help it compete with other major titles on the market. How can I say that? Well, Enter the Dominatrix.
Yes. Saints Row: The Third's expansion pack that was going to arrive in a couple of months to anticipation of eager fans has now been cancelled, only to serve a bigger objective...
Jason, upon seeing the progress made in the production of the expansion pack; was so impressed that he told them to use it in Saints Row 4. He feels the DLC has far more potential to flourish as part of a new game..er sequel.
“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise," he said.
"I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game. When it comes to Saints Row, it's clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that's why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013."
Added Rubin,"We believe the potential for this sequel is far greater as a full-priced, full-length, high quality, connected experience.”
If that wasn't enough to convince you that Saints Row 4 is indeed coming next year, then game artist David Payne's CV will prove the inevitable. His profile on Linkedln mentioned Saints Row 4 and it was in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. No mention of Next-Gen hardware though. And as always, his entry has since been removed. There, that enough?
So guys, you up for Saints Row 4? Obviously you are. Disappointed that you wont get that DLC? Maybe. Happy that they are looking at the bigger picture and giving us a true over-the-top Saints Row game we know and want? Ah, now you get it! When its Saints Row, I can pretty much predict your answers. Sure, you can always prove me wrong in the comment box below.
