An announcement today from Gearbox Software confirms; Borderlands 2 has gone gold. GD has learn't that going forward from here, the developers will begin work on the game's DLC offerings that were previously teased back in April along with the free incentives.
Looking forward to it's launch on September 18th 2012, Gearbox Software have now sent their offering to the censor board for it's certification. Now, for it's free down-loadable content...
It was revealed that the Mechromancer Class, one of many post-launch goodies, will be released as free down-loadable content for it's Premium Club members approximately 2 or 3 months after launch. But no worries non-members, you can get the free content up on pre-ordering the game from certain retailers as well. Not only that, but you could also download the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key and the Vault hunter's Relic, all by pre-ordering. Ready to hunt for those participating retailers? You'd better.
About the main game itself, the proud 2K Games had this to say, " Living up to the mantra "bigger, better and more badass," Borderlands 2 features all-new characters; skills; imaginative, diverse new environments with unique missions and enemies; and more exciting fun weapons, equipments and loot than ever before. All of these features come together in a story that takes players to the world of Pandora to take down the notorious Handsome Jack and his corrupt Hyperion Corporation as a solo campaign or with up to four co-operative players."
Rewinding your gaming years, you will remember the 2009's sensational hit - Borderlands. Of course you do, the first-person shooter served the critics just the right way and rewarded the gamers *literally* worth hundreds of hours of blazing fun and mayhem! We at GD believe, this game is following it's predecessors footsteps just fine. Having four classes to choose from the start and each enriched with their own unique skills and armed with exclusive weapons, you can very well mark the date on your calen...err.. phone.
Whats more is that the game's campaign has been officially confirmed to last 58-60 hours. Did I mention it's explosive line-up of DLC contents? Only you can know how many hours that will take..
Confirmed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, Gearbox could come out of the blue and announce this game for the PS Vita and/or the Christmas bonanza, Wii U. At Least that's what Randy Pitchford, CEO and President of Gearbox Software, hinted a while back. Regardless, we're happy to see this game launch on our respective platforms this Fall. Are you? Nah, don't answer that.
Is this one of your most awaited games for 2012? Does the pre-order bonus excite you? Or will you be too busy in the campaign with your notorious group of friends to give little notice for the DLCs? Shoot (or Loot) your comments below.
